Culture

An apology is a commitment to face the outcomes or punishments that result from the transgression, in other words, if you apologize for coming late for a meeting, you should be ready also to face the punishment for coming late which might be not being allowed into the meeting. This is not known or practised by most Nigerians, because they assume that giving an apology means showing an act of humility which will grant you pardon and free entrance, washing away any responsibility that is associated with your offence.
When God called Abraham in Genesis 12:1, he told him to leave his nation and kindred, he didn’t mean for him to leave the physical geographical location only but their system of doing things; the culture of his nativity because in that system, he can only go so far and he will still be limited to the limitations of his country like economic breakdown, epidemic etc he might be faced within the country.
When you got born again, God called you with an holy calling, telling you to forsake your former system of doing things and get into the culture of the Christian, the culture of the word. Be a patriotic Nigerian but do not think nor pattern your life as a Nigerian, American, Briton etc, think and pattern your life after the Word. Live in terms with your new culture-the word culture, that is God’s desire for you, so even if there is a pandemic in your town or street since you are not of that system, the pandemic has no right to affect you.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

What were you fashioned for?

Purpose is key to living a fulfilled life. In all of man’s quest for money, within every individual lies the deep desire to know the purpose for which he or she was born.
God planned your arriving this world and he had a very special task for you to do, he fashioned you perfectly to suite the task you were supposed to carry out. A bathroom slippers was made specially to be worn indoors, wearing it outside would be abusing it, same with man, every man was made specially by God to do something, doing something else would be abuse. A man walking in line with his purpose would have men, money and resources attracted to him like a magnet becauee he is located at the core of God’s plan.
You get to discover your purpose by faithfully doing those things you find to do in God’s house, studying  your bible (i.e. fellowship with the Spirit) and speaking in other tongues. The Holy Spirit made you, he alone knows your purpose, the more you do those things mentioned above the more he breathes his thoughts and ideas into you, and one day you would wake up realising that you know what you were made to do and when you discover that, go for it against all physical odds, God would be with you and remember nothing can defeat the man that is working in line with his purpose.

2Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
(KJV)

God’s way of thinking

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(KJV)

God gave birth to you, 1 Peter 1:23, he wants to raise you up to act,
talk and think just the way he does. In Philippians 4:8 he gives you a
standard format of what to think about, and since he wants you to
think like him, it also gives you an insight of how he thinks and what
he thinks about… so this means that God thinks about whatsoever is
true, just, honest, lovely, pure, of good report, virtuous and praise
worthy… this is the outline of his thought pattern towards any
situation or any person, meaning he thinks the best thoughts about
you, pure and lovely thoughts; he is always watching out for your joy
and success, if you are in any situation that seems unfavourable or
experiencing any difficulty, physically, financially etc. God is thinking
the best for you in that situation, he is not thinking you deserve it
because you were disobedient, his thoughts are towards getting you
out of that situation and making you the best. God thinks the best of
people, the same should apply to you, exercise your mind to think the
best of people always, if an information comes to you about an
individual and it is not pure, honest,…, praise worthy, discard it and
discipline yourself to think exactly like your heavenly father.

Expressions of eternal life

The life of a Christian is an overcoming life, in other words a life of
adventure, prevailing in every circumstance. If there was nothing to
overcome then you would not have the opportunity to fully express
the potential of the life you have been given.
Challenges must come; they are necessary for your spiritual
development, it is what you SAY and DO in the midst of your
challenges that is of utmost importance. Always remember the first
step you must take to work out this overcoming life that you have
received in any trying circumstance is to SPEAK, and it is important
for you to speak powerful words that have the ability to change the
circumstance. In Acts 19:20, the bible says the word of God grew
and prevailed in the city of Ephesus, showing us the prevailing and
overcoming ability of the word, therefore the smart thing to do in any
trying situation is to speak God’s word (make it grow in you) and it
will prevail in your mind and over that challenge. This is how to work
out this life that you have, Philippians 2:12. Remember you express
the dynamics of this life in trying situations, so as said in James
1:2-4 “count it all joy”, learn to rejoice in trying situations, they are
just a means to express who you are and what you have.

Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
that loved us.
(KJV)

Living the Christian life

Romans 10:9-10
” That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. (KJV)”

This portion of scripture tells us how our salvation was consumated,
we believed and we confessed i.e. we spoke, this is known as
actively participating with the spirit of faith! If believing and talking
brought us into this life that we have which Jesus talked about, then
to particpate and partake effectively everyday in this life we have to
consistently believe and speak the word. It is called having and using
the God-Kind of faith! God has brought you to function just as himself;
he believes and he speaks, the same must apply to you. Believing that
God is going to heal you is not good enough on its own you have to
say it, that is acting out your faith. Speak words that are alligned to
God’s thoughts towards you, for example concerning your health:
1Peter 2:24- “by his stripes ye were healed”… Speak God’s word
always and watch your improvement daily.

Singing 2

Bad things happen to good people and that is a fact of life, as a
Christian, one thing you have to bear in mind is that there is a real
devil out there whose sole purpose is to frustrate your service to God
and God would NEVER stop him, because that is your responsibility!
You stop the devil by singing… yes, singing God’s word, declaring
your victory in sweet melodies, edifying your spirit and honoring the
Lord. Practise singing today, even though it seems like you are in the
valley, sing your way to the summit of the mountain; take God’s word
and write your own songs, make them personal and show your faith
in God’s ability with your JOYFUL songs.
By the way, Jesus sings so why won’t you:

Hebrews 2:12
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the
church will I sing praise unto thee.
(KJV)

Singing 1

God rejoices at your victory, he is not scared when challenges come
your way, neither is he concerned; if you were not bigger than that
challenge, he would not permit its facing you, 1 Corinthians 10:13. So
when you are challenged by any trying circumstance, he is excited
because it is another opportunity for him to show how mighty he is
and how much he loves you, 2 Chronicles 16:9.
Guess what? When you face challenges God sings! Wow, he certainly
does and that’s why your singing during trying situations is not just a
confession of faith alone but an allignment of yourself to see through
God’s eyes and walk over that circumstance as the victor that you
really are, never stop singing… never stop rejoicing.

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy;
he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
(KJV)
